YOUNG HUSBAND'S ABUSE ASSAULT ON WIPE (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Louis Noel Stock, 34. was charged in the Police Court that h& assaulted, bis wife, aged 25, by hitting her in the face with his clenched fist, and also that lie assaulted Arthur Leonard Higgings, and his brother Erjc Stock. The wife said her husband came home from work last night and without provocation knocked hor down. Riggings, who boarded with the Stocks, said the accused struck him, and he took refuge under a bed. Then the acensiad kicked him on the mouth. Erie. Stock said the accused wanted to fight and struck him. Constable Spellman, who was called to tho house, said Mrs. Stock alleged in accused's presence that thd accused tried to kill her that morning. Witness found all the driors locked. The accused said "I'm King of the Castle. No one will come into this house."

In a statement from the dock the accused denied having struck anyone. "I madp. them scatter,'' he said. "That's all. She insists on these people living with me, and I don't liko it." The) accused was fined £5 on the first. charge, convicted and discharged on the second, and the third was dismissed.
