COTTON MARKET BREAKS
LARGE CROPS FORECASTED

Cotton broke approximately at a dollar and a-half, the sale being the lowest level since 1022. On Monday the market was confused. Government oflicials forecast the largest crop on record, 17.-b)4.000 bales. WASHINGTON. October 2.1.
'The Department of Agriculture's forecast of the largest cotton crop in. history is causing additional consternation in cotton circles. The report is expected to be followed by renewed anneals for speedy southern aid. Tt nlso adds tremendous difficulties to I lie task of rehabilitating the Southern provinces. Despite the Government's estimate the New York market anparently discounted the report in its advantage, but acted curiously. It maintained an even level at re-opening? 'hen drooped 2.1 to 32 points, then rallied 12 to Ifi points from the early low levels. The New Orleans cotton market broke 20 points on the receipt of the forecast.
