A compulsory parade of the ma-chine-gun platoon and C Company of the Hawke's Bay Regiment will be held on Friday evening, while on Sunday a further parade will be held for the purpose of attending the funeral of the late Sir James Carroll.

Amongst the visitors on the grounds this afternoon was the Hon. K. S. Williams, Minister of Public Works, who arrived hist evening from the Coast. Major-General 11. " Young, C.M.C., D. 5.0., Commandant New ' Zealand Forces, and Colonel Powlcs, Commandant Wellington military district, also visited the Show.

The little child, Harold Eitzgibbon, aged live years, who was injured through being struck by a rider on the merry-go-round at . the Show this afternoon, was later admitted to the Cook Hospital. The boy sustained a nasty knock on the bead, but his condition is not regarded as serious. Tributes to the late Sir .James Carroll were paid this afternoon by a distinguished 1 party, comprising the Hon. K.'S. Williams," General Young, Colonel Powles, Colonel Gamhrill. and Captain Burge. Calling at the late home of the deceased the party first paid respects to the deceased staleman, and then to his widow, Lady Carroll, the visit being marked by the customary speeches of welcome and condolence. Better provision will require to lie made at next year's Show for the accommodation of motorists. Although no tally was. made of the motor ears the gate attendants considered: that there were more on the Show grounds to-day than ever. The consequence was that considerable congestion ensued in the members' paddock, despite Ihe efforts of the man in charge. In places ears were parked up against each other, causing much inconvenience and difficulty wheal the lime for departure arrived." The lane leading along the hack of the grounds to the railway sidinc. besides the adjacent, roadway, was well lined with cars. There was another largo collection along the fence near the implement field.
