PRISONERS SENTENCED
HEAVY PENALTIES IMPOSED (Por Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The following sentences wore imposed by J lis Honor Mr. Justice Skerrett, in the Supreme Court this morning: Thomas Harrison, described as a reputed! pick-pocket, known as " Adelaide Tom," for attempted theft and being- a rogue and vagabond, twelve months' hard labor on each charge, the sentences to
be concurrent; Herbert Harold Paine, breaking and entering, eighteen months' hard labor; Robert Campbell, .attempt to defraud the Commercial Bank of Australia, of £586, three years' hard labor; William Johnston, an elderly man, for indecent .assault on a. male, three charges,, two years' imprisonment. His Honor said he was satisfied that the accused) was a persistent corrupter of vouth, and was. a menace to the young.
