GOLF NOTES. The weather-god was kind on Saturday, and 'a delightful afternoon was spent by golf ■enthusiasts, when a mixed foursome 'was played on the links, and the annual presentation of trophies took place, thus officially closing the stasom The players assembled early in the afternoon, and after the matches web played off, afternoon tea was served in the pavilion, where the long tables were set with plates of goodies, and decorated With vases of spring flowers. The collection of trophies' presented a fine display when viewed upon the table set on the verandah.

In the absence of the President, the trophies wero presentd by Mr. H. Bull, who in a few well-chosen words praised the. recipients, and thanked the donors, lie was assisted by the secretarv, Mr. C. Bull.

The coveted championship cup was won by Mrs. C. IT." Scott, and Miss Bull, the runner-up, received a monetary tropliy'. Other presentations included the Hutchinson Cup, won in a handicap tournament by Miss Martin. The Nolan Vase, t'pvilie three best net scores'during August, won by Mrs Whitehead. The ; Walsh;* Cup, for the B grade championship, won by Mrs. Hodgson! A handsome hand-mirror "Was ' won by Miss I.O'Meara for tho best eclectic score'in the A •grade. ' A similar "competition in tho B "grade 1 was" won by Miss' G. : Bttsw-elt, who redcived'al cup, saucer 'and plate en suite. The L.G.M. silver medal was awarded to Mrs. Whitehead.

The much-coveted Coronation medal was Won by Mrs. 31. U. Burke. : A large number of trophies 'were also presented to the men, and after much applause, the members dispersed homewards.

HIGH SCHOQL OLD. STUDENT^ 1 ■ DANCE. ' A very enjoyable dance was held in the High School last Saturday night; when the old girls and boys assembled for the annual re-union and dance. Owing to insufficient- advertisement the dance was not attended as well as usual, but lack of numbers was entirely forgotten in the enjo'yrflent of the evening. Chrisp's orchestra played in-spiring-music., and encores were much in demand. . .Popular--extras: 'were /played by Miss Margaret Bruce and, Mr. Langhorue. The lights were shaded in the school colors, red and black, and cast a pleasant glow on the dancers as they moved beneath them.
