A man entered the Bank of Liverpool and held up the staff with a revolver, and when the cashier attempted to prevent. him taking the silver from the counter he fired. ’The cashier was seriously wounded. The thief dashed into the street, pursued hy the manager, calling "Stop! Thief!” A crowd joined in the chase, and the thief tired point blank at two men, who were both wounded. A policeman who attempted to fell him with a baton was also wounded. Eventually the man was arrested. Examination showed that only a few shillings were stolen. Two of the victims are in a critical condition.
