SYNTHETIC PETROL FRENCHMAN’S DISCLOSURES (Australian and N.Z, Cabi i Association., (Received October .15, noon) PARIS, October 14. Le Matin states that the secret of synthetic petrol lias been discovered by Al. Aiuliberf, director of the National Society of Research. The method is to submit a mixture of hydrogen and carbon oxide to a pressure of 200 atmospheres, then filter over a catalyser, thereby obtaining petrol, which, after distillation, is suitable for use in aeroplanes and motors. It may also be converted into purified petrol for commercial oil and paraffin.
