TO SAVE LIFE
WOMAN'S 150-MILE DRIVE. CIRT, PATIENT DIES. BROKEN HILL, September 251 Miss J. Edwards, of Quinyambie Station, had a. hard motor drive over rough country for 150 miles yesterday in an unsuccessful attempt to save the life of her niece, Jean Patten, aged 15. The girl, who lived in Adelaide, went to the station about six weeks ago, for a holiday. On Sunday she became ill, and yesterday her aunt.bccomihg alarmed, left the station in a motor-car at 9 o'clock for Broken Mill Hospital. She travelled at. high speed, hut. «as delayed "by a puncture, making it neeeisarv for her to change a wheel. Mr. RH.'C'alder met her at Corona. Station, and drove his.car alongside, to Broken Hill, which was reached at 6 o'elocV, but. the girl died half an hour after admittance.
