HURRICANE'S HAVOC

A hurricane on Monday caused heavy ]\js.s of life and property in the Villa Encaiiiacioii, a town find" port on the river Parana, 180 miles south-east <4 the capital. Messages indicate that ofiieinl reports place the dead at 200, hut other information is that the death list already totals SCO and is growing hourly. More than 4CO buildings were razed and a section of the town, seven .streets long by four wide, is a mass of rums. LOSSES AT SEA SEVERAL WRECKS SIGHTED (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. NORFOLK :Vitginii), Sept. 2d. Vessels at sea. report the sighting if wrecks of vessels, the victims of the Florida hurricane. '1 hey include a dereliet wooden vessel and a naval target raft. The steamer Lake Charles, with a crew of 36, has not been heard of since she left. Miami on Friday for Norfolk.
