THE HOME MARKETS -Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd.. have received the following cable from'their bead office, dated September 2:- - DAIRY PRODUCE. "Butter.—Prices are lower by 4s since our last cable. Quotations are now as follows: Danish, 170 s; XX exceptional brands, 1645; finest, 160 s to 1625; Australian finest unsalted, 1625; do. finest salted, 153 sto 160 s. The market is verv weak arid lar.'Cheese.—Tbe market is very weak. Quotations are: N.Z. cheese," colored, 83s to Ms; S.Z., Vhite, 85s to 86s; Canadian, colored, 80s to 84s; do. white 85s to 865." "Stored butter. —Prices asked are 160 s to 1625, but there is little doing. Prices are nominal." SYDNEY WOOL SALES
At the wool sales yesterday we offered 4000 bales. As compared) with June sales prices are higher by S per cunt. Competition was gerreral, and good clearances were effected. Greasy merinos sold up to 25|d. FROZEN MEAT MARKET. "Quotations.—N.Z. prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavv, 8^1: light, 9Jd; North Island, heavy, 7.',d; light, b*|d. The demand for N.Z. lamb is limited. N.Z. prime crossbred mutton, Canterbury, heavy, 5.U1; light, 6|d; North Island, heavy, 5d ; light 6d. The demand for N.Z. null ton is poor, owing to the warm weather. N.Z. prime ox heel', hinds. 5Ad. lores. 3j}d. The demand for -N.Z. beef is fair. The market for N.Z, lamb is dull. The market h)i- N.Z, mutton is weak. The market for N.Z. heel is firm, dood. average quality' Australian crossbred mutton, light, 3-;|d. Heavy supplies- of Scotch lamb are selling, at the same price practically as frozen. The demand generally is very limited. No forward sales are reported." "Pork is selling at lCd e.i.f.
The New Zeahurd Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. have received the following cablegram from their London house under date September 1 (last week's prices hi parentheses):
