While being escorted from Napier to WerarOii. yesterday, John Colston, 16, jumped olf the express close to Woodvtlle station. He cominaiuleered a Jiorse. saddle, and bridle al I\ oodville. and made oil from the locality as quickly as Jk> could. The dash for freedom, however, was interrupted ltt.il night, when lie was apprehended, between Aslmrst and Colyton by ;t const a l»lc. Appearing tit the Police Court this morning, the accused was ordered to be returned to Weraroa. with a recommendation that- lie be transferred to the Borstal Institute at Invercargill.
