TWELVE HUNDRED DEAD IN CYCLONE.
LONDON, May 29. The Rangoon correspondent of the Exchange Telegraph cabled that official reports estimated 1200 dead in a cyclone in Burma. A huge tidal wave accompanied f lie cyclone, which swept the Arakan coast on the 22nd, ascended the Naaf river, and inundated the) entire adjacent country, tin 1 despatch said. Villages were swept away beyond Mnungdaw, fifty miles from the sen. All. cattle in the affected areas were killed, according do the despatches,, and nearly all telegraph lines between Burma and India were cut.
