Pigeon, and Cage Bird Assu eiat ion’s annual show, which takes pi,ice on Friday and Saturday next, that, the Association has iound it ucces sarv to provide extra, accoiiwnodation tor the birds. There are large numbers of entries vet to ciHue, and indications all point to a record show. The entries in the pigeon classes have been so m mil - crons that the Association has had to pnieure fifteen extra nests. Tin- outstanding lent lire ul the show this is file arrangements for judging the various sections. In the jiast the association has had the 'services of one or two outside judges, and the remainder have been loci', men. hut this year every class will he judged by poultry authorities from other districts. The judges who have been requested to ollieiaic liave all replied favorably, and licit a hitch has occurred so far iu the extensive |i repa rat ions being made lor the show. The association is doing its utmost to i no,urage poiill ry amateurs in t heir huuliv, and lias, gone so far as to secure tii,- services of an expert to assist and instruct them. Mr Jarrell, Hie-Auckland poultry exjieit, will he present at the show lo help exhibitors, and will remain in the district, lor about a, fortnight, delivering lectures and generally assisting poultry keepers. A meet iiio of tile association was held last- evening', ami was largely attended Mr. 0. V. Church presiding. A large nr.imbcrs of new mom tiers were proposed. After the business of the meeting had been dealt with the members adjourned to the (Harrison flail, and jml in some time making arraiigeinciitv for the show. All birds must I e in the hall bv 9 ok lock to-moriow evening, and, the judging will commence at i_S a.m. on Friday. The show will he opened to the public at 2 o'clock on Friday ailernoon by the Mayor and Mayoress, and will remain open on Saturday.
