A HOUSING TANGLE.
DOUBLE CASE OF HARDSHIP. CHR ISTCIIIJRC,H, July 1. The housing shortage at Gjreymout.lt was illustrated by a particularly difficult case, which came before the Court some time ago. Ernest Willoughby, a married man, with a large family, was ordered to give up possession of the house lie was occupying. Not. being able to rent another, he bought one. His present, problem is to gain possession of his purchase. The house is occupied by Airs. Adelaide Ruth Todd, who also has a large family, and cannot got another habitation. The former owner of the house, William Wilson, proceeded against Airs. Todd claiming possession of the building and £3O for unpaid rent. “It is a doubly unfortunate position," said Air. W. Meklram, S.M. “The choice is between two cases of hardship. One has the legal position on his side, and the other has not." He advised Airs, Todd to endeavor to roach some arrangement with the other parties, and made an order for possession against her, the warrant to be issued on or after duly 1.
