Mr. P. ('. Ooghlan. another id' the old pioneer settlers ot Wairoa, is reported very ill. On Friday, Mr. Joseph U.odges, -id, employed as cook al the Clyde Hotel, died after a brief illness. He had been in New Zealand twelve or fourteen years.

At the quarterly mooting of Die Eire Board there were present: The Mavor, Mr. Cbrkill. and M,essrs S, A. Dickie. M. Taylor,' .1. Hay. J. N. Norrie, W. H, Flint, and ",f, H, Black.— The brigade wrote on the subject of insurances on members while engaged in practices, and also submitted draft by-laws.
