DETAILS OF CARGO.
(Per Press Association.; TAURANGA, this day. The Mantua's cargo includes 35 bales of henvp, 11 bales of tow, ,">4 bales of sheepskins, (i.'i cases of fruit, 21 sacks maize, 4 cases bacon, quantity of general cargo'and a fair mail. Tim island is owned by Messrs. G. and W. McLaughlin. The"area is 000 acres, used as a sheep run. It is about -10 miles from Taurnnga and three miles off the Tairna harbor. IN AN EXPOSED POSITION. (Per Press Association.? THAMES, this day. The Manaia is ashore on the Watchman, a small island a mile from Slipper Island', which i.s about five miles from Tairua,, on the East Coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. The Watchman is about 30ft. high. The ship appears broadside on from Tairua, with a dip in her stern. She is in a very exposed position. Cory Wright aiid party, of Tairua, proceeded early this morning by launch, but have not yet returned. At 10 a.m. the Ngapuhi arrived and is rendering assistance. A fair sea is running.
