EMPIRE PARLIAMENT.
SIR J. WARD'S SUGGESTION
AT SYDNEY MILLION 6LUB.
SYDNEY. June 0.
Speaking at the Million Club, Sir Joseph Ward advocated the formation o'' an Empire Parliament, composed of representatives of all the Dominions and the Motherland to handle issues that concern tho Empire as a whole. He added that the day had passed when the House of Commons, with its maze of British problems, could completely control the policy of the Dominions, on broad issues, and the Par Lament he proposed could legislate on foreign matters, war clouds and the conduct of war should it develop, and similar matters. Sir Joseph Ward also •aged suitable reciprocal treatment in trade between Australia and New Zealand, and suggested the formation of a committee of businessmen to consider ways'and'means to increase trade between the two countries.
