WHAT THE CENSUS SHOWS. .Another bulletin covering the 'preliminary results of the census as it affects the native population has been issued by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. R. F. Bollard. The returns indicate a total increase for the territory given of 4027 people. Tho great majority of the places show useful improvements, only half a dozen or so being credited with a falling off of population. The 1926 figures include, half-castes; thoso for 1921 exclude half-castes living as Europeans. The inclusion of this class in the earlier census would raise the figures approximately 8 per cent.
