TOKIO, May 27. The Hakkaido eruption destroyed 12 miles of the Furano river, five miles of the Kanibetsu river, 33 bridges, and 730 houses.
The damage is estimated at 8.1 million veil.
hi addition several hundred hoivses arc submerged or seriously damaged, whilst there has been much destruction of paddie-fields, farm lands and a sulphur mine, from which latter twenty-five bodies have been recovered.
