DR. LAWRENCE KENTOUL. » MELBOURNE, April 15. Dr. Lawrence/Rentqul; prdfessor at the Theological Hall, GVmond College, Melbourne University, and formerly Moderator of the General Presbyterian Church of Australia- collapsed.and died, ill a city street.' He was 80 years of age. MR. FRANK A. I RED ALE'. SYDNEY, April 16. The death has .occurred of . Frank A. Iredale, former international cricketer, and .butill recently secretary to the New South Wales’ Cricket Association, aged 65 years. MR. GEORGE~LEONARD EVANS. (Spce’n) f o the Herald.) ~ CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The death occurred, after a painful illness, of Mr. George 'Leonard Evans, well-known ' for many years in sports and athletics. He had a severe illness three years ago from which he never fully recovered, but had improved and was attending the Trentliam rifle meeting when he 'became suddenly - ill, eventually the attack ending in his death. He was one of the oldest members of the Ghristchurchh Defence Rifle Club, and well-known for his consistent snooting. He twice won the South Island _ championship belt and also many trophies and gold medals. By his death Canterbury has lost one of her best riflemen. Somo .years ago he was' a prominent member of the Linwood Football Club, and was recognised as one of Canterbury’s best forwards. In military affairs he was a keen volunteer in the No. 1 Field Engineers’ Company and continued as an officer under the Territorial system, retiring a few years,ago., , ■ ,
