RIOT IN PARIS.
DEFIANT COMMUNISTS. FIGHTING ENSUES. {Reuter’s Telegram.} PARIS. April 14. Rioting occurred as a consequence of attempted demonstrations by civil servants, who are claiming a sliding scale of salaries. A erbwd of several hundred, mostly Communists, defied the prefectoral prohibition and tried to force the police barrier in order to raid promises of an electrical undertaking. Fighting ensued. , Thirteen policemen were injured. There were 300 arrests, but only one or two were detained.
