DR, H. SPENDER, LL.D., F.R.G.S. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received April 16, 1 p.m.) LONDON, April 15. Obituary: Dr. Harold Spender, author and journalist, aged 62. [The late Dr. Spender was a sou of the late Dr. J. !lv. Spender, and a member of a well-known family of novelists and journalists. After passing through Oxford University lie was successively on the stall’s of various newspapers, but on the outbreak of war devoted his time to patriotic work, and "subsequently to welfare! activities. He was the author of many books, historical, biographical, and fiction, his last two efforts, ‘‘Byron and Greece,” and ‘‘Alen and Mansions” being published in 1924.]
