TEMPTED DEATH.
WENT IN FRONT OP TRAINS. TWO MEN FINED. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Donald Joseph McCalman was charged at the Magistrate’s Court with failing to keep a vigilant lookout at the Pet one level crossing, and crossing at a greater rate than ten miles an hour; also crossing while the line was not clear. Defendant’s ear crossed at 25 miles an hour just in front of a train. He was fined £5. Edward Barrett, for a similar offence at a city crossing, was fined £2. He was nearly struck by a locomotive.
