LONDON: Jan. 28—The perils of London streets are demonstrated by figures, issued officially showing the number ofaccidents and fatalities which have occurred in the last throe months. ROME, Jan. 28. —According to an official’ statement published to-day. the population of Italy on December 81 totalled 42,113,000. This is an increase of 3,300,000 since the census of 1.921. STOKE-ON-TRENT, Jan. 28.—A new motor-tyre factory, estimated to cost £300,000, which will eventually employ from 8000 to 10,000 people, is to ho built by the. Michelia Tyre Company at Stoke-on-Trent. The directors of the Michelin Company, a French concern, have been compelled to erect an English factory in consequence of the imposition of new duties on foreign motor tyres. ■ IMPERIAL TOBACCO REPORT' T R ADING PROFIT 'O VER £8,000,000. LONDON, Feb. 10.—The annual report of the Imperial Tobacco Co., Ltd.. {shows a net trading profit last year of £8,880,007. Alter deducting a quarter, of’ a million for pensions and transferring half a million 1o general reserve account there is, with the sum of-£-159,201 brought forward from the previous year, a total of £8,084,251 available for distribution. The dividends and bonus already announced absorb £8,010,010, leaving a balance of £(>13,038 to be carried forward. £3O TO SEE THE SUNi PLEASURE PARTY’S AERIAL FLIGHT. LONDON, Feb. 3.
