Remits dealt with at the conference of th* New Zealand Harbors' Association to-day were Dumping of refuse, etc. (Auckland) : That sections 276 and 239 of the Harbors Act be amended to provide for the master or owner of the ship being responsible for the action of any member of the crew.—Adopted. Garbage- chutes on vessels (Auckland): That section 226 (7i of the Harbors Act be amended to provide for tho sealing up of garbage chutes on vessels as well as of ash ejectors.—Adopted. Regulations' regarding .accidents and collisions (Auckland): "That the word* "must sound steam whistle frequently" be deleted in clause 32. page. 13, of the general harbor regulations. —Adopted. Regulations regarding accidents and collisions (Auckland): That the words "licensed ferry" in the second line and "ferry" hi the fourth line of clause 34, page 13, of the general harbors regulations be deleted. —Adopted. Regulations regarding accidents and collisions (Auckland): That clause 35. page 3, oi' the general harbor regulations be deleted.—Adopted. Regulations regarding accidents .and collisions (Auckland): That the words "or owner" be added to the words "master" in clause 36, page 3, of the gcueraJ harbor Regulations.—Adopted. Dues, on Government goods (Tauranga): That this Association considers that all Government departments should be required to pay a. portion of harbor dues on goods passed over the wharves of harbor boards, and especially good<s passing over wharves which have not been subsidised to any material extent by Government funds, and that the Harbors Act be amended accordingly.—Withdrawn.

Declaration re exemptions from dues (Wellington):, That the proviso to t>ubsection (a)'of suction 78 of the Harbors Act, 1923, providing that statutory declarations where exemptions are claimed from harbor dues under this sub-section be made to apply generally to the exemption provisions of this section. —Adopted.
