The population of New Zealand, including Maoris, at December 31 last is estimated at 1.401,028 (whereoi 726.279 are males and 674,749 females), Cook, Niue and other islands 13,873 and 6804 females), mandated territory •of Western Samoa 38,829 (20,307' males and 18,522 females), an aggregate estimate for the Dominion and islands and mandated territory of; 1,453,740, comprising 743,655 males and '710.085 females. ..... ....
