15 TONS OF EXPLOSIVES FIRED. 150.000 TONS OF LIMESTONE RELEASED. (Per Press Association.> WHANOABKL this day. A record blasting operation for New Zealand took place at Wilson’s cement works at Portland yesterday afternoon, when 13 tons of explosives was successfully fired. 150,0(X) toils of limestone being released. Fifteen bores of two inches each were-put in.
