IMPERIAL RELATIONS.
DOMINIONS’ STATUS AI'IIOME. PERMANENT SEC'IIETA 111 AT WANTED. (Sydney Sun Cables.) ißuceived February 6, .1 p.m.) LONDON . Fob. 5. It' is learned that prominent members of the House of Commons interested in Dominion affairs, intend submitting proposals to Mr Baldwin to create stronger Dominion representation in London. They suggest establishing a Dominions’ Secretariat. The question will be discussed at the Imperial Conference. It is understood that Downing Street would* welcome a re-arrangement, but there an; many difficulties. It would like the Dominions to have representatives in London with such status that after communicating with their respective Prime Ministers they should get together here in the form of an Imperial Conference, whereby they could directly inform Cabinet of the Dominions’ atti t.ulc.
The question is. however, whether all the Dominions would be prepared to give their representatives the necessary status.
