BANK'S £826,640 IN GOLD.

LONDON, Oct. 22.—Two inconspicuous covered-in motor lorries, one advertising <i grocery and provision merchant's business and the other a wellKnown whisky, passed into the courtyard of the Bank of England yesterday afternoon. They gave no suggestion that within them was £826,640 in bar gold. The bullion, brought up from Tilbury Docks to the Rank, was the first shipment of gold which has arrived from South Africa since the strike of seamen at Cape Town. It was packed in strongly made wooden boxes, numbering over 240 in all.
