BOWLS.
PEACE SHIELD TOURNAMENT. A meeting of the G-iiborue Bowling Centre was held at the Gisborne Club's pavilion last night, when the draw was made for the Peace Shield tournament, wh'di will be played off on New Year's Day and Saturday. It was decided to split the 18 entries into two sections— A and R. with six games in all ty each rink on the two days. The tournament will take place on the Gisborne Club'rj greens only, thus in a measure eing accounted for by. the fact that byes will play byes. The games will start punctually each morning at 9 o'clock, and all bowls must he on the green at 8.30 for examination. Messrs. J. Allan and I.
