HOUSE WRECKED.

GAS LEAK HAVOC. FOUR PEOPLE INJURED. LONDON, Nov. 16.-—While gas company employees wore working in the road outside No. 27, Fabian road, Fid ham, S.W., in search of a leak yesterday morning,, the house —a two-storey one—was wrecked by an explosion. Holes were blown through the brick walls; doors were tom from their hinges and flung across rooms; a staircase was pushed upward!) out of position; until great rents were mad'e in the flooring. A heavy wardrobe was thrown across a bed in one room, the, door of whicli btv" at the foot of the bed, while a. large piece of the marble slab of the washstand was also on the middle of the bed. Tlio mantelshelf was torn away, the window was blown out, andi the floor was pushed! up from below. Four of . the five ocecupants—Airs Sheppard, Air andi Mrs N. Hughes, and Airs W. Florence—were in the kitchen on the ground floor at the back of the house when the explosion took place. Although the two front f'ooms on ihe ground floor were shattered, the kitenen. escaped the full force of the explosion. The substantial wooden door, lio”’r was blown across the room! and Airs Florence was severely cut on tho- head, while Ah Hughes was cut ori the leg. All four suffered also .from shock.
