SPANISH CUSTOMS INCIDENT.

WOMEN STRONGLY PROTEST. AGAINST BEING KEPT OUT IN RAIN. MANY WOMEN WOUNDED. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) GIBRALTAR, Dec. 22. There were extraordinary scenes at the Spanish Customs House between Lalinca and Gibraltar. When 500 Spanish women were returning _to Lalinca they were held up in pouring rain for the purpose of a Customs search. The women protested strongly and determined to force their way through the building, and stormed and harried the Civic Guards, .who thereupon charged. Many women were wounded, and some were arrested and imprisoned. Others fled to Gibraltar.
