DARING DAYLIGHT ROBBERY.
NEW YORK, Nov. 5.—A most daring robbery occurred at Buffalo, near Niagara Falls, New York, when a gang of armed bandits swooped down upon the armored car in which bank funds were being transported, killed the driver, wounded the guard and messenger, and stole nearly £20,000 in cash. Three gunmen, in a high-powered motor-car, opened fire without warning as the armored car drew up outside the Bank of Buffalo, in the heart of the financial business centre of the city. Two bank messengers were transferring money into the bank when a fusillade of bullets mowed them down. The driver of the car was instantly killed as he sat at the steering-wheel. Three accomplices ran forward, snatched thev money-bags from the fallen messengers, and jumped on the running-board as tlio murderers’ motor-car sped away with the police in pursuit, firing without apparent effect. Three roobbers, notorious gunmen, are said to have been recognised by the police, who are searching for them.
