BATTLESHIPS DOOMED
NEW NAVAL THEORY
LONDON. Dec. 16.—The Star’s naval correspondent believes That 11.M.5. Rodney, which will be launched on Thursday, will be Britain's last battleship. Experts, it is assorted, declare that when the Washington agreement expires thri battleship will be regarded as obsolete. The new school of naval thought, believes that smaller ships designed for special purposes will provide a, morn efficient navy and one less liable to be seriously weakened by attrition. When Britain is free to resume battleship building, the Admiralty Board will be controlled by younger men, not wedded to tin: battleship, and who will decline to build them.
