SERIOUS MENACE TO OWNERS
“The unlawful use of . motor cars nowadays is a serious menace in tho motoring public, and. 1 would ask Ihnf this man be taught a lesson,” wild Chief |Elective Kemp, at the Magistrate Court, Wellington, when Arthur Doyle, alias George .1 olios, alias George Jones Doyle, a motor driver, pleaded guilty to a, charge of unlawfully convertjig to his own use a motor car valued at £450, the property of the New Zealand: Government.
“Ota Saturday morning last, accused asked permission from the authorities at the Public Works garage at Pipitea Point, where he was employed, to take the car out, but was refused three times. Later in tho day he gained on--trance through a skylight and' took the car. Nothing further was seen of thevehicle until Monday morning, when it was found outside the garage,, damaged to the extent of £6. The, department asks that as there are other valuable cars in the garage the accused should be a given a lesson as an example to others.”
