Airs La lsdowne testified that she Had received! a letter from Captain Paul Foley, a naval officer and judge-advo-cate in the present inquiry, suggesting that she should change her previous statements which criticised the Navy Department and: testify only to certain facts before the Court. Were these facts true or false, asked Mitchell’s counsel. “They were false,” replied Airs Lansdowne. “The portion of Captain Foley’s statement that was false.” said Mrs Lansdowne, “was that which wished me to say that my husband was always willing to take the Shenandoah on any military flight, regardless of the weather conditions. It is an insult to my husband’s memory to insinuate that lie would do saich a thing.”
