THIRD MIKE
The.* Government. steamer Tutanfkai', which is making periodical visits to the East Coast lighthouses, arrived from South at 3.15 o’clock this afternoon. The exhibition at Dunedin has been the cause'of remarkably heavy booking for berths on the Lyttelton ferry steamers for Christmas time this year. Tho attraction at Dunedin, combined with the fact that the public has been warned to obtain passages early, has resulted in saloon berths for ladies on certain dhvs immediately prior to Christmas be iila almost unobtainable. Booking this year commenced in September, whereas it does not usually begin until about two months later, and berths do not become scarce, until the middle of De comber. This is despite the fact that the Union Company have arranged a special* service between Wellington and Duiiedin during the exhibition.
