PERFORMING MUSICIANS.
AWARD FIXES REMUNERATION. ■Per Press Association.! WELLINGTON, this day. .\ The Dominion award for performing musicians has been filed. Every per* <■ former employed- at general theatrical performances shall be paid £4 a week for six performances, and 12s each matinee. Performers at permanent vaudeville or variety shows are to be paid £3 15s a, week of seven performances, and 12s for each matinee after (he- first. Performers at ••permanent picture entertainments (non-continuous) shall be paid at the rate of not less than < £3 10s for six performances, averaging not more than two and a-quarter hours , for each performance, 6s for the first matinee, and 12s for each subsequent matinee in each week? Rehearsals shall not exceed two hours each week. In the case of picture theatres which do not show regularly six nights a week, gf? the performers shall be paid pro rata at the weekly rates provided for permanent picture theati’es. Special rates and conditions are prescribed for continuous theatres, which are defined ns those screening the same programme, or portion thereof, more than twice daily; also for card parties, concerts, dances and assemblies, refreshment rooms, and hotels, skating rinks, etc. Overtime is to be paid for at the rate of 5s an hoar. Performers at all benefit entertainments are to be paid' at award rates, but the whole or any portion of the fee may be handed to the f"nd at the discretion of the performer. The award includes preference and nnder-rate workers clauses, and its term i,s from November 9th next to November 9th, 1927.
