KAWHITt'S MAIDEN TRIP

A largo party of 'business and public body men accompanied the Rawhiti, the new 300-ton sleamOr of tho Roosc Shipping C'o., on Ivor maiden trip from Hamilton to Mercer on Saturday. The vessel, which is 180 feet long and 38 feet wide, was specially constructed for tlie peculiar conditions of tlio Waikato river. When fully loaded with 300 tons she will draw only three feet six inches. Being only 38 foot high when light, she is able to pass under the half-dozen bridges along the 100-milo route from Cambridge to Bort Waikato.
