PROTEST AGAINST PREFERENCE TO MARRIED TEACHERS. .Per Pte-ss Association.' AUCKLAND, this day. Tho Education Board discussed a letter from the executive of the New Zealand Educational Institute, notifying the intention to test at law its granting of preference to married teachers or to male married teachers, to the disadvantage of women applicants. Mr King suggested a conference between tho Institute and the Board. < In expressing a desire to avoid litigation. Air Knoll said that after the age of twelve, hoys required the discipline of a married man. Mrs Ferner suggested that there • might he cases where preference should he given to women te/ichers.
