The Gisborne branch of the St. John Ambulance Association was again represented at the show grounds this year, in readiness to render first-aid in any accident cases. A dressing station also was erected on the grounds, to treat the wounds of any who might receive injuries.

Travelling at a. fast pace, a motorcar which was being brought to Gisborne for exhibition at the Show, left the road! at To Arai on Monday iiiiginand struck a telegraph post with sufficient force to tilt the latter at a considerable anglo from the perpendicular.
