The event is regarded as the most important of its kind y.ct organised in Gisborne, and those nominated include the bast of the professional riders of the Dominion. Four _ Timaru-to-Ghrist-ohurcli race winners will be riding in the Poverty Bay event, these being A. Sutton, 1921,. W. Mackie, 1922, G. Watson, 1923, and C. Bright, who deadheated with Walker in this M‘ al > s Timaru race and gained second fastest time. Among the others is the winner of tlie Taranaki “Round-tho-Mountam v<ico, und it big number of -first-cuiss nfriormors.
