SHOOTING ON SHIPBOARD.
Australian and N.Z, Cable Association) LONDON, October 22.
The police met the C.P.R. steamer Melita at Southampton from Antwerp. The greatest secrecy was maintained in taking the first officer, Towers, off. He told the police his life aboard the steamer had been made one of misery. The condition of Gilmour, the second engineer, is more hopeful. A bullet entered his face and lodged in his ear, but will probably be extracted to-day. Holiday, the first engineer, is also improving.
