In connection with the a evident which occurred to school children when being conveyed I roan Riverhend road to Nelson Park ..School on Thursday, July 9, the secretary of. the Hawke’s Bay Education Board stated that the arrangements for this conveyance were made by the residents, the Board paying the yapitalion allowance approved under the regulations, although for the sake of convenience, and at the request of Ihe residents, the payment had been made direct to the contractors, the' Aar cl Motor Company. The Board was not liable ifor any claim, which may lie made on account’of tho accident. The Board did not in any case insure against risk of accident where children were conveyed. Where definite contracts were entered into for conveyance, the form of contract provided that the contractor should take out a policy covering any risk for claims which may be made on account of accidents,
