LAST NIGHT’S TELEGRAMS.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. After hearing legal arguments this afternoon in the ease, Palmerston North Borough. Council v. 0. -J. Casev, the Court of Appeal reserved its decision. Infectious disease reports in the Wellington district show that diphtheria cases are decreasing, though normal conditions have not vet been readied. NELSON, last night. A lad named George Campbell was injured by a fall at Orepuke; and is still unconscious. He is suffering from an extensive fracture of the base of the skull. Ilis condition is grave. NAPIER, last night, Ah Sue and Choy Jackson pleaded guilty to being in possession of opium in a form suitable for smoking. In tlio ease of Hie latter it was stated that he apparently, although not a smoker himself. was supplying his countrymen with the drug. Fines AT £2O and £3O respectively, with costs* were inflicted.
