FATHER OK GA»S INDUSTRY. (Special to the Herald. 1 CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Mr. 11. C. Bislnqi, general manager of the Christchurch this Company, who has been in ill-health tor some time, has ictired from the company s service on pension. Mr. Bishop lias been in the company's service for tifty-threc yciirs, and is looked up to throughout New Zealand as father gas industry in the Dominion. Forty-two years ago, lie v.as appointed secretary of the company, and for the past ten years has filled I hi' office of general manager. He has hern intimately concerned with the success of the company, from its early days. Mr. E. W. Heed, who has been secretary of the company since 1915. takes over Mr. Bishop’s duties as general manager.
