CIVIL CASES SETTLED.

FEW ACTIONS .LEFT,

The civil eases set <l6\vti for hearing at tho present session of the Supremo Court, were called this morning, a;nl appointments made by His Honor Mr. Justice Ostler for the few actions which are going to hearing.. The action of Taupae Karnka (Mr. F. W. Nolan) against Julius Donner (Mr. J. S. Wauchop), a claim for £333, was announced to have.been settled, as was also the action in which William Chas. Whitfield (Mr. L. T. Burnard), proceeded against Arthur Aislahje (Mr. J. S. Wauchop), for £390 in respect of damages to a motor-car. It was intimated also that a settlement would probably be reached in tho action in which William Tl Pitt (Mr. 11. D. Clirisp), proceeded against 'Mikaere Keiha (Mr. Nolan) for the sum of £270.

The- hearing of the War Lord ease, in which Lionel Geo. Clare and the National Bank of Now Zealand (Mr. Nolan), claimed tho sum of £2630 from the Canton Insurance Co., Ltd. (Mr. L. T. Bnrnard), was fixed for Monday morning. The case in which Thomas Fraser / (Mr. J. S. Wauchop) proceeded against Thomas Brosnahan (Mr. L. T. Burnard) for £350 alleged to bo due as rent ami-profit, was sot down for hearing on Monday. Reference was made to two compensation claims arising out of the taking of land by the, Harbor , Board. . It was stated that Mr. W. Hamilton. Irvine had been appointed assessor for the claimants, and Mr. W. A.. Barton, for the Board. It was decided to proceed with the eases after the conclusion of the other business. One undefended divorce ease is to bo decided on Monday morning, and u petition of right for relief following the forfeiture of Crown lands will also be heard before the end Of the Session.
