N.S.W. POLITICS.

THE ELECTION CAMPAIGN,

SYDNEY, May 1. The Labor leader, 3fr. Lang, opened his campaign at Auburn to-night, where lie delivered a policy speech, which was wirelessly broadcasted. He said his party bad no connection with the Communists who were being definitely refused admission to the official Labor party. He said Labor’s future policy would be one of spirited enterprise and initiative. He would not promise the millenium, but if Labor were given another term it would be content to stand or fall on the accomplishment of its programme.. The party would endeavor to increase the settlement of land, and would not hostitate to raise the necessary money for that purpose, even to the extent of settling 20,000 new farmers and pastora’.ists. The Nationalist Government’s policy of giving preference to immigrants in land settlement would be nbolishod. Labor stood for placing.. Australians on equal footing with immigrants. The speaker then outlined schemes for abolishing undue profits on primary produce, and reducing taxation, and concluded an unimpressive speech which had little reference to, a definite policy.
