INCREASE IN TAXES

The Finance Minister, Von Schlieben, in a Budget speech in the Reichstag, estimated next year’s expenditure at 49,000.000 marks and the revnue at 465,000,000. He proposed an increase in beer and tobacco excise to meet the deficit.
