A MEMORIAL DAY
The seventh anniversary of the Gisborne Baptist Tabernacle took place on Sunday last. There were large congregations at, the services. The occasion marked; an epoch m tho history of thj church, not only because il was the anniversary, but also because the day saw the clearing oil of all debt, on the properties. in the morning the service was conducted by the Rev. F, A. (Yaw. shew, while the church was filled to capacity in tho evening, when an address entitled “The fields white unto huii'vo.st," particularly in relation to his experiences in Brazil, was delivered by Mr F. G. Glass. The day's collections, which were devoted entirely lo the liquidation of Ihe church debts, amounted to £123, and a Iml her £3/ was received for mission:;. A large choir rendered .suitable music at both services. Six new members were received at a communion servile held after the evening service, and this was a fitting conclusion to a memorable dav.
